Premiere: Lady Parts - "Think Again"

Listen to a new track from Philly's Lady Parts.

Since their formation back in 2014 at Temple University, Philadelphia-based rock trio Lady Parts has consistently churned out confrontational, diaristic songwriting. They've solidified their sound over the years with influence from similarly candid and lo-fi acts such as Girlpool and Waxahatchee, but also heavily attribute it to “gin and tonics and cats.”

On their catchy new single “Think Again”, Lady Part’s spews heartfelt lyrics with 90’s pop punk riffs - two elements blending together without a hitch. Lady Parts is Gracie Clements, Mary Rush, and Christine Oglesby, and on each song of their upcoming EP Shrill, the three trade off vocal duties and instruments. Christine Oglesby's voice slightly resembles Joan Jett, imbued with a deep maturity as she sings, “I don’t want to hear your bullshit / I didn’t walk down the street to meet you.” Rush’s purging vocals will linger in your eardrums while backed by searing, splinting guitars. “Think Again” is an upbeat anthem for combating sexist catcallers while standing tall as you're walking down the street. Lady Parts on "Think Again":

"Think Again is a song about when people make assumptions about you because of the way you present yourself. Christine wrote a couple verses and the music, then asked Mary and Grace to add their own verses. in the process of recording with Jesse Kennedy, we decided to add a suspenseful drum intro too. This is one of our favorite songs to play live because it features all the ladies!"
