Premiere: Amanda X - "Paperweight"

Listen to the latest track off Amanda X's sophomore album.

It's been a minute since we've heard from Philly-based three-piece Amanda X. It was all the way back in 2014 that we proclaimed our everlasting crush on them after the release of their 2014 LP, Amnesia. Since then, they've put out one EP and a New Years Eve-themed single on the cusp of 2016. But the trio, made up of Cat Park, Melissa Brain, and Kat Bean, has officially returned to let us know what we've been missing these last few years.

Needless to say, we're super excited to share the latest track off their sophomore album, Giant. "Paperweight" opens defiantly with the line, "I know where I want to be," before the band's complimenting harmonies kick in. There's a bit of uncertain transience that permeates the song while the three echo cries of "SLOW DOWN!" as the guitars bend and arch. But they're ready to strike back with the powerful "I don't know what it feels like to behave!" that's reminiscent of when we first said they were a force to be reckoned with in 2014. Giant will be digitally released with Self Aware Records and the band made the incredible decision to donate all of the proceeds to Women Against Abuse. Listen to "Paperweight" below and make sure to pick up the album on August 18th.
