Premiere: Gurr - "I Don't Like You"

Gurr will get you up and dancing with their new video for "I Don't Like You."

If you've been paying attention, you'll know that Berlin-based band Gurr is one of our personal favorites. Having made an appearance on The Le Sigh Vol. II and other places on our site, the trio has repeatedly crushed us with their sassy brat punk bangers. Today we're excited to share the music video for "I Don't Like You," a track off their recently released EP, Furry Dream.  The video's footage is a melange of tour clip and vintage film and it's the perfect compliment to a song that already instills a dancing frenzy on its own.

Gurr on "I Don't Like You" and super cool video they made to match it:

"'I Don't Like You' is one of the first songs we wrote in 2012, but we love it so much that we re-recorded it for our new EP Furry Dream. The song is about not knowing how to return affection and then ending up sending mixed signals to somebody. Even the song itself is sending these ambiguous signals because we are singing this very cruel line 'I don't like you' over and over, but we sing it to this very happy-clappy melody. Since we didn't have a budget for the video, we used footage from two of the gigs we played during our last tour, as well as found footage from the 40s and 50s. It's mostly amateur rollerskating and roller coaster clips, which has been a long-time obsession of ours. There's also some scenes from a 1949 instructional video we found online called Dating Do's and Dont's, which is a ridiculous tutorial for how boys should ask girls out on a date, but it also has some great bits in it where they go to a carnival and eat cotton candy."
