LP: Christi - Christi

Get over your relationship blues with Richmond's Christi.

Dudes are the worst. Always. Without fail. They start wars and never text you back. WTF is that logic? No matter what they say (or don't say), you are a goddess. Boys just don't make any damn sense. At least we've got our fellow goddesses to help us get through the hard times, such as the four women of Richmond, Virginia's Christi. Their eight-song self-released tape shimmies through 18 minutes of heartbreak so tightly you'll forgot your judgement ever lapsed on that Stupid Face Jerk Head.

Playing campy-not-corny 50s-inspired surf pop, each song recollects a dating misadventure sadly all too familiar to your regular babe. Gone out with someone who made you feel more like a mom than a girlfriend? “Shitty Baby” is the one for you. Been four months since the break-up but your heart still aches? Channel Debbie Harry, bleach your bob and listen to “Subatomic.” Fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with? Me too, lady. Let's blast “Get You Off (My Mind)” and burn pictures of that Idiot Moron Brain before my mom gets home. Remember: You're going to make it through this. Christi's here to help you cry a bit, dance a bit and move the fuck on.

Listen to Christi on bandcamp.
